Ever since she was a little girl, my mother had a dream; In this dream she imagined her future married life, in which she would have elegant mornings, waking up to romantic classical music and a fresh cup of coffee. In reality, however, her mornings were quite different; she was the one preparing breakfast for my father and her two girls (including me!). Once everyone was done she was the one cleaning up the mess as well. For twenty years this was a typical morning for her.
This song is both inspired by her elegant dream, and a small “thank you” to my mother and all those mornings she dedicated to her family, and missed out her “morning waltz.”
